My Current Approach to Tension Type Headaches + Stomach Tension

Background

For the past years since I started worked in 2022, I had Tension Headaches and Stomach Pain/Tension. It's mostly due to stress and posture. I decided to take action this year in 2026. This has what's been helping me a bunch. I'm still hurting / feeling sore, but I've gone from a 8/10 --> 4/10 using this approach in the past year.

Physical Therapy and Acupuncture are the TOP 2 things that have helped me!

Physical Therapy

  • Cat/Cow
  • Thoracic Extension
  • Thread the Needle
  • Chin Tuck
  • Scalene Stretch
  • Prone Scap Stretch with UE Lift
  • Prone T
  • Shoulder ER with Band and elevation
  • Serratus Wall Slide - Elastic Band
  • Prone W

Acupuncture

  1. Target head/neck/forehead
  2. Target stomach (probably the "Liver" Meridian)

Exercise

  • Running
  • Gym

Vacation / Rest

    1. Don't bring home laptop or even backpack from work
    2. Change mindset --> positive, flexibility, changing perspective, gratefulness.
