"Companion" Movie Soundtrack Analysis
I recently watched Companion and really enjoyed the aesthetic and music soundtrack.
From a cursory look on Spotify we get the following (I don't think it's official):
I was particularly interested in the older sounding songs which matched the awesome pink aesthetic during the opening and endings credits:

I compiled them into:
What eras were these songs?:
- Gimme Some More - 1972
- Please Take A Change On Me - 1960
- Book of Love - 1986
- This Guy's In Love With You - 1968
- You Showed Me - 1968
- Emotion - 1977
I particularly enjoyed Gimme Some More, This Guy's In Love With You and You Showed Me. These songs are around 1970.
What were the 1970s about?
"If the decades are characterized stereotypically, the '50s were uptight and fearful, the '60s were turbulent and optimistic, and the '80s were crass and commercial. Interesting...
AI Answers says "The vibe of the 1970s was a mix of rebellious youth culture, political turmoil, economic uncertainty, and a sense of disillusionment with the establishment"
I've been going through some stuff at work where I haven't felt excited or energized or inspired.
But also https://www.reddit.com/r/AskOldPeople/comments/i92pjl/what_were_the_70s_like/ seems like a lot more personal of a take on things.
Everyone.. was on drugs. People were going to the moon, guess that's pretty cool. There was a lot of crazy driving.
I really enjoy this music because the nostalgia is high and the music is so smooth.
Looking forward to watching this movie again.
